I grew up on this farm. It was one of the original homesteads built for farmers brought in from the Netherlands after the Payne Investment Company drained the swamp that became Hollandale because they were accustomed to farming lowland ground, growing potatoes, onions, cabbage, and later sugar beets, corn, soy beans and grains. This was a wonderful place on which to grow up. My family owned this farm from 1923 until the early 1990's. Since then it has become quite overgrown and run down - sad to see.
