This farm is my great grandpa Lawrence V Johnson’s farm. The land was settled by his grandfather and father in the 1880’s when they immigrated from Skåne County, Kristianståd’s Lan Sweden. My great grandfather was born here in 1897. He lived, raised a family of 3 plus an adopted child; and farmed here his whole life. As a child, my dad would take my brothers and I to visit many many times. This picture is exactly like my brothers and I remember it looking in the early to mid-1980’s. The farm was sold when Grandpa died in 1994. A contractor name Hedlof bought the farmhouse lot with 10 acres, brought the house down to the studs and rebuilt it as original, making an effort to preserve all the original woodwork.
