Grandpa and Grandma Burkemper lived here (Bud and Dora). Since many of our cousins went to school close by, in Winter my mom or aunt would pick us up, and take us Ice Skating on Grandpa's pond. Lots of great times with the cousins, along with sharing ice skates, as we had the hand me downs, as our shoe size would change. We all started out on a double runner---- and when our foot stopped growing, we would receive our own pair of ice skates!
