The Dale McConnell farm, also known as the Maple-Ayr Farm, on the north side of Rt 18 east of Quarry Rd, Wellington. The farm was originally purchased in 1824 under a Connecticut land grant by Mr Adams. After that it was known as the "Old Perkins Farm" and Boyd McConnell purchased it from Art Edwards in 1926. His son Dale took over this farm in 1948. In 1956 they had 69 head of Ayrshire cattle on the 125 acre farm. The milk from the cows was shipped to the Parsons Dairy. They also produced about 300 gallons of maple syrup each year.
