Rt 113 at the intersection of old West Ridge Rd, Elyria. The road heading to the upper right was West Ridge Rd and it ended here at Rt 113, then jogged east before continuing south (at the Church of the Open Door). The road was cut off a few hundred yards north and rerouted east so it goes straight onto the southern portion of West Ridge Rd as it crosses Rt 113. The road was changed in the late 1970s or early 1980s and this farm was removed completely. Today an HVAC company has a modern building here.

This used tp be the Stang farm. It was a registered Holstein farm
amd evem further back into the 1800s was listed as a cheese factory. When Me.Stang passed is was to be divided between his 4 sons. Only one son continued as a farmer so the transition was fraut with legal issues and before all was settled and done the land was rezoned and annexed into Elyria and TRW built their facility near the railroad tracks. Bob Havannis baught the land for housing developemnt and began rearranging the farmhouse and out buildings. He later sold the farmhouse and barn to Mark Foster. Later a Church bought the land and the barn becme a Church and they built the building the houses the current inhabitant. It was sad to see the magestic old barn be torn down.

That must have been the Stang family that Stang Rd was named after. It is just to the north.
