Mr and Mrs Sylvester Jackson were married in 1909 and purchased this farm from a distant cousin, Reuben Jackson. The house was built by Frank Bradstock and the barn by Mr Jackson. Planted mainly in corn, along with wheat and oats, the farm produced the feed for a small herd of 10 Holstein cows and chickens and a few pigs.
By 1956 Mr Jackson had been a Penfield trustee for 15 years. The farm is located on the north side of Peck Wadsworth Rd west of Rt 301 in Penfield. Today the house and barn are among other houses built on the road.
Featured as Mystery Farm number 48 by the Wellington Enterprise on November 1, 1956. Search the Lorain County home page for "mystery" to see other farms.
