This was originally the LaRue Farm. It was purchased by Noris Carey. It had a log home just east of the current home. Noris had a hog farm here at one time, and later Carey Brothers did as well.
In the field in behind the house was the Wolfinger farm. Edwin Carey, owner of Carey Poultry Farm, built the machinery shed and current home. The corn crib in front of the machinery shed was converted to raise piglets and later as a brooder house for started pullers and Cornish meat chickens.
At one time, woods stood on both sides of the lane.
