I believe this was the Paulding County Home.
My grandfather, Gene Gary was the supervisor from 1960 until the County Home closed. I spent a considerable amount of time exploring every nook and cranny in my childhood.
Hi Vicki,
Do you remember what year the county closed the home down? Do you know if the buildings are still there today and what they might be used for?
The County Home closed in 1990. I believe it was on Nov. 1st. My mother reported to me that the brick structures were torn down. That would be the main structure that my grandparents lived in and the structure that served as the menβs building that was attached to the main structure by a portico.
We do not live in the area, and I cannot say as to the status of the womenβs building, the old hospital/nursing home or any of the barns or sheds.
