I grew up here 50 years ago! This was my grandparents dairy farm and It was a childs paradise. Lots of hard work but also lots of fun for kids----two lakes for swimming and fishing every day in the summer. Ice skating and Sled riding the long driveway in the winter. The total farm was about 200 acres where we grew our own crops, hay and straw and we had about 100 cows that were milked twice a day. We all had huge gardens back in those days and everything was canned. They were able to support 2 families off of this farm. Today, it would probably take a megafarm of 1000 acres to support a single family. None of the barns, silos or any of the buildings exist today. Sold out to the coal company in the early 90's and stripped right to the house. Such a shame!
