My parents moved into this house around 1967, paid $10,000 for it. Raised 4 kids here. Chimney fire in 1995, had to be destroyed. They put up a modular around 1997.

This is the house i grew up in on franklin rd 2 miles out of evans city. That house burned down in 1996 after they finally put new windows and siding on. At the time this pic was taken, we had painted it red and white. You definitely couldnt miss it.
My younger brother lives there now. It looks nothing like thia now. Most of the trees have since rotted and been taken down. The driveway on the far left was moved when the priperty next to us was sold.

7823 franklin rd, evans city
Originally just r. d. 1 than r. d. 3, than i think they added a box #, than changed it completely to the franklin rd address
Coincidentally, this is about a mile and a 1/2 from the cemetary thats in "night of the living dead"

Hi Kim, thanks for sharing your memories of the house on Franklin Rd! It's fascinating to hear about how it used to look. We'd love to learn more about the area during that time. What kind of farming did your family do on the property? Also, could you tell us more about the changes that have taken place since the photo was taken in 1981?

Hi Deb, thank you for sharing your memories of your parents' house! It sounds like they had quite a history there. We'd love to learn more about the area during that time. Did you have any favorite spots or activities in Butler County? Also, we're curious to know if your parents did any farming on the property. Feel free to share any other details that come to mind.
