I grew up on that farm along with my 3 older siblings, I was the youngest. My parents bought it in 1974, or at least I know I was three years old born in ‘71). We had Quarter Horses on the farm where we all took a part in raising, training and showing them. The bank barn is no longer there. It was torn down ~1987/88 and a new pole barn was built where the riding ring is in this photo and the riding ring is now where the old barn was. The old barn across the street was torn down (not sure what year) and a mobile home was on that lot for years but now it’s an open field adjacent to the West Nantmeal Township Recreation Park. The Spring House in the far upper right corner of the photo is still there and recently renovated into a nice hideaway with a water feature utilizing the natural spring. The house is pretty much the same on the outside, just new paint and maintenance. A small addition was added to the left of the house looking from the front which serves as a sitting sun room.
The big trees in the front yard are gone and smaller trees are now there. The “U’ shaped driveway was modified and the section from the house straight out to the street is now yard. My dad still lives there along with his wife and enjoy having the horses, dogs and cats. Thanks for sharing this photo, brought back some good memories!
