Five Forks. The tracks are no longer there, and the bridge is much improved (wider).
this is where Five Forks Rd and Oak Hill Rd met and then attached to 316. story of the house to the right is it served as a small railroad station and post office in the early 1900s before Five Forks was incorporated into Quincy township and thats when the post office closed then the station closed in the late 1920s when the Western Maryland Railway slowly ended its small passenger service. the railroad line in this picture was the Waynesboro branch which went from Altenwald to Edgemont then in the 50s was shortened to end in Waynesboro at Landis Tool Company and Frick Manufacturing. the line was torn out by the Chessie System in 1985/1986.
