This was part of the original 1782 360 acre patent by Christopher Horn (1745-1809). He sold this half of his patent to his son John Horn (1772-1856)who built the brick house in 1833 per the stone in the gable end. These were my 4th and 5th great grandfathers. Christopher fought in the Revolutionary War as a Frontier Ranger in Washington County. The little building to the right of the home is constructed of logs with a massive stone chimney with a fireplace in the basement and on the first level. This building is believed to possibly be Christopher Horn's early log home. The only thing now left of the log structure is the stone foundation and the the base of the chimney.
