This location of Thornton Ford in the photo was located closer to downtown Frisco, near the 8989 block of Preston Road by the old water tower. It was opened in the 60's and was originally owned by Ed Peters before Howard Thornton bought it. Then in the late 70's, a larger Thornton Ford Dealership was built at 2429 Preston Rd, near the Preston Rd and 121 intersection. It was later sold and became Star Ford prior to Stonebriar mall being built and the buildings being torn down.
