Hopewell Friends (Quaker) Meeting

What was the use of this building? Was it ever a home?

This was not a home, but a Quaker Meeting House.

This Quaker Meetinghouse was built in the 1730s and then enlarged a half-century later. It was the "mother" congregation of many other meetings, and it was the gateway for many Quaker migration patterns to the south and west.
