My grandparents, Robert and Millie Scheidegger, bought this property in the late 40's and my parents, Ralph and Monica Scheidegger, bought it from them in the 50s and raised a family of 9 kids. The barn burned down in the late 90s; the rest of the buildings were demolished or burned purposefully several years later. A new house was built where the barn stood, and a pole shed on the site where the small pig shed is. The land is now part of the Ridgeway Pine Relics.

Hi Mary! Thank you for sharing the wonderful history of your family's property in Iowa County. It sounds like there have been quite a few changes over the years. We'd love to learn more about your memories growing up there. Can you recall any specific activities or events that took place on the property during the 1960s? Also, what type of farming did your family engage in?
