This was originally the Johann Theodore Opgenorth farm settled in the 1850's. He had 7 children, Mathias, Margaret, John, Rose, Olive, Irene and Louis T. Opgenorth b. 1899 his youngest eventually took over the farm. He was my paternal grandfather. Graduating from UW-Madison in 1921 he was a very progressive farmer for his time and was an early adopter of many farming practices. It was a very diversified business. Dairy Cattle, potatoes, poultry and eggs sold regularly to the Milwaukee market, grain cleaning set-up, early adopter of artificial insemination, contour farming and many other diversifications. He was married to Corrine Schaefer from Wayne, WI and they had 4 children, Kenneth 1932, Mary Carol 1933, David 1938, Gerald 1939
