16139 W. Washington St. (opposite the Tri-State Pkwy. T-intersection), looking SW.
Currently, it is the location of Dan Lodesky Trucking located on Washington St. and the land is still farmed. The road (bottom right hand corner) was originally name Grange Hall Rd. when the Grange Hall was built in 1877, but in 1970, the name was changed to Washington St.
In 1861, 1873, and 1885 plat maps, the 40 acre parcel was owned by "A. Brown" or Albert Brown in Section 21 of Warren Township. Adjoining to the south of Mr. Brown's property was 80 acres owned by "F. Wlodeski or Wlodeskie" (40 acres is Section 21 and 40 acres in Section 28). And finally, the 1907 plat map indicates that all 120 acres was owned by "F. Wlodeski".
F. Wlodeski was Franciszek Wlodeski, a native of Poland, purchased the original 80 acres in 1843 south of Albert Brown's parcel. After his death, his youngest son, Francis J. "Frank" Lodesky (1845-1923) inherited the property and was married to Bridget (McCarthy) Lodesky (1860-1956).
Eventually, the name of the farm became "Centennial Farm" and is still owned by the Lodesky family today.
