Looking SW at the, Heritage Plaza Shopping Center, which is under construction at this time. This location is just north of Woodlawn Road, Illinois State Routes 10 and 121, along U.S. Route 66, in Lincoln, Illinois.
At the very top edge and right of center in this picture, there appears to be some remnant buildings of Lincoln's first commercially viable airport. These are on the south side of Illinois State Route 10. The mowed area just to the south (left) of the buildings may be the east end of the east-west grass landing strip. This airport operated from about 1945 to 1963, and was first established on land farmed by Henry F.A. Bock. His farmstead is just out of the picture to the right, but appears in other film strips on Vintage Aerial.
