Hines Street, Washburn...........grocery store and the mill pond

Many of us learned to swim here,

The house directly across from the store is where we currently live. Our driveway and garage are now where the line of trees were. Would love to find more of these pictures of our home years ago.

This was (Ken) Grants IGA when I was young and later became Sperrys IGA. I was born in the house across the street in 1942 when it was a midwife house and I was delivered by Dr. Larabee who delivered almost eveyone I knew before and after my birth. I sis a lot of swimming in the town pool which before my time was used to cut ice for an ice house. My fiorst recollection of a refrigerator was with refilling of ice for cooling. My boy scout house was across the pond from the store.

sis above should be did. In the upper right hand cornor id Oat Russells garage where our mechanical work was done.
