Photo 61-OAR-4

I grew up here and was 12 at the time of this photo. We have no photo of the old barn and I was hoping someday to see it again! I learned to drive in that black car we would use up and down the farm. Blue two-tone Ford also behind the house. The State created that pit to repair the highway after a hurricane in the mid-fifties, Edna maybe. Dad knocked the barn down around '68 and I spent the summer dismantling it for salvage wood. I used one hand hewn beam from it in the frame of my porch in Washburn in 1980's. There is a potato cellar obscured by the house. It is gone too. In '69 and '70 we cut the second story off the house and turned it into a ranch. My Dad, Armand, just moved out in September '14 and lives in Bangor now. His grandfather bought the place in 1910 or 1911.
