This is where I grew up, the Leary Farm on the Flag Pond Road in Saco, Maine. My paternal grandparents moved here in 1943 when my father, Jim Leary, was 13. After graduating from high school he stayed on the farm, raising and milking dairy cows for decades. My grandparents built the Cape Cod style house around 1960, and my parents moved into the farmhouse and eventually raised 6 kids. Currently (2015) this is the last working dairy farm in Saco, run by my brother, who has started growing vegetables as well.
