Located on what was Yates Store Rd.in Western Wake County. House was demolished in 2009/2010 Road was also relocated to allow for a subdivision (Amberly)

This house was just south of New Hope Church Road along the Wake Co and Chatham Co NC line. Rev James Madison Yates (Mt Pisgah Baptist) and wife Caroline Josephine Lewter Yates lived there when they were older and their son Thomas Patterson Yates and wife Lillie Frances Yates Yates took over farming their land. The original farm house and out buildings were in the NW quadrant of New Hope Church Rd and Yates Store road. The Yates/Lewter family cemetery is still present in a subdivision on the property. My husband's Grandmother Iva Caroline Yates Wrenn was the daughter of Thomas P and Lillie F Yates. She grew up in a beautiful Queen Ann style house next door to the one pictured which was also torn down for development.
