In 1959 Joseph and Betty Pocs moved their five children( Teresa, Patricia, Nancy, Michelle, and Tom) to this Knox County farm. In the 60's my dad added the new kitchen with the big bay window, and had the pond built. The 21 maple trees lining the lane were so beautiful in every season but in the fall it was gorgeous!
1972 was the year I (Michelle) married Dave Bowlus ,also from Fredericktown,Ohio. Dave and I are still married (2015) but the land where the house and barn stood is no longer in the family. The barn was blown down in a windstorm ( not sure the date) , muskrats ruined the dam and the pond was filled in, the house was destroyed by fire in 2001, and to make a sad story worse , the trees were becoming dangerous and had to be cut down in the lane. The only buildings still there are the hog shed out back and a pole barn not visible in the picture. It is totally unrecognizable now. I am so glad that someone captured how it looked in 1972. Like they say the picture is priceless!

My best friend growing up was Tom Pocs! I spend much of my early growing up years at this farm! Great memories!

Spend many years enjoying this great farm with my best friend Tom Pocs! Great memories! We grew up together and would give anything to do it all again!
