The Arthur Jewett farm on the north side of Griggs Rd west of SR 511, Rochester. Looks like the small buildings beside the barn have been replaced today.

The Jewetts bought the 100 acre farm in 1924. In 1957 they had a dairy herd of 35 Holsteins and ran an egg route delivering in Elyria.

Featured in the Wellington Enterprise as a "Mystery Farm" on November 14, 1957. This series of articles had a brief history and an aerial photo of each farm. Thanks to Cindy Kurpely of the Rochester Historical Society for providing the article. Search the Lorain County main page for "mystery" to see other farms featured.

Arthur Jewett Farm - also known as Oak Lawn Farm. This was my great-grandparents farm, where my grandma and her siblings grew up. I have two other aerial photos, one taken in 1957 (the "Mystery Farm" photo) and one supposedly taken about 1976.
