Notice the railroad car next to the barn at the right center. This was used as the South Amherst "station" for the Lorain, Ashland and Southern railroad (The Ramsey) which crossed Rt113 at Annis Road. It was originally located in the north east quadrant of the crossing. Some time after the railroad was abandoned in 1925, it was moved a few hundred feet east to the spot in the photograph.
