This was the home of Harve and Nancy (yount) Lawson. He died in the 50's and she lived there until her death which placed it in the hands of her son, Cleatis. The house in the right hand top photo was the original house on this property. I believe my grandfather bought it from a doctor who moved to Rogersville. My grandmother thought the house was haunted and she was afraid to live there. Harve built the house for her in the center of the photo. The large barn between the two houses was originally located on the New Jersey Zinc mines property near where the new Dollar Store is currently being built. A company was hired to move it to its present location. They cut the barn in half and moved it up the Clinch Valley Road a half at a time.
