This is my family farm. We still own it. Unfortunately, the windmill was sold. The large barn to the right of the house has been torn down, as has the one you can barely see to the left of the house. Across the road, the part of that structure that faces/is parallel to the road still exists, while the remainder has been demolished. The front that is left was known as Williamson’s Grocery. In 1900 the first half of the building was built and served as the storeroom for the mill my great-great grandfather operated. It was previously across the road, and then moved. The size was doubled around the 1930s, and then became the grocery. The living quarters were added in the 1940s or 1950s for my grandmother and her family. We are currently working on restoring the small building. This photo showed how great things were for farming in 1981. By 1985, my father was out of farming, and the farm is leased to a relative.
