I lived there 60 years ago. It was my favorite home of all time. At that time there was the 2 story home with full basement, us kids loved the soundproof basement to play in the winter. There was a 3 car garage, a 6 dog dog kennel and run, a runway out back and airplane hanger and a barn to the south. My father had a garden just like the pic. 3 bedrooms upstairs plus a sun room and full bath. The home had window seats, a laundry shoot from upstairs bathroom to basement that my brother would occasionally slide down. Hardwood floors throughout. Each bedroom had a huge closet with windows you could open as I spent much time opening the window and reading. Good times in that home, I would love to live there again.

Down stairs had a huge beautiful entry where my piano sat, a full bath with black and white octagon tile floors and bath surround, a cedar closet , den and living, dining, kitchen. The screened bath porch with a tree right outside that I set on fire with firecrackers on 4th. Dining room had a built in buffet and round dining table. Kitchen had the only electric dishwasher I had ever seen. Eat in kitchen area and yiu accessed the basement from kitchen or from outside. Basement had a “hide hole” right under streps. I remember that because the day we watched 4 tornados that went over (the ones that destroyed Thrall, Ks) my dad made us go under those steps. There was the main room where we played with an entire map of the world on one wall with airports highlighted. Also a room for laundry with laundry shoot and shower. Behind that was a shower room. Shetland ponies were in a fence right behind the house and 2 oil derricks between the runway and us. Note: shetlands bite,! An old couple lived north, they grew maze. My best friend, the osmundsons lived to the south as did Stewart’s who raised peacocks who screamed all night and scared the crap out of me at night. I hope who owners this house is happy there, I loved it. One single ghost who was harmless was also there. Nice young man who we usually saw in the basement

He never was there until my brother and I explored the air hanger which was full of hay and found this bent up motorcycle. We didn’t tell because we weren’t to be there, but after that, this young man would appear to us, and my cousins while we played in the basement. I only saw him upstairs once, I was working on a recital piece and looked up and there he was. Young, maybe 20, light shirt and dark pants, no shoes,

What I remember most about living in Madison Kansas was the amazing school system. We had a hired hind from the Stewart farm who was married to an oriental woman, she came to our school and helped us make chopsticks, taught us about the culture and made us food one day. Tge next year we had someone from Mexico teach us and we made piñatas, made tortillas and learned about Mexico. The next year was someone from France. I wish my kids could get that education today
