When they built O. H. Ivie Reservoir it covered Leaday with water. The church at the top was moved to higher ground. The post office, house and store were not removed from the lake. Mabel Doss owned the Day Ranch She married William Day and he died. She then married Joesph Lea. She was building a town and needed a name. The name of Leaday was taken from a combination of Mrs. Day's two husband' names.
