My grandparents have lived in the brick house since 1996.
It was built by the family that owns the old home at 2 o’clock for their aging mother in the early ‘80s.
The land to the south and west is now overgrown, and the cattle guard is no longer there.
Hi Sam,
Do you remember what the land to the south and west was used for before it became overgrown? And were there any other notable changes to the area around Comanche County in the late '80s?
Alexis,
Cattle ran on the land.
Just out of view to the south is a small shed, or feeder for the cattle. Due to overgrowth, it hasn’t been visible in 10+ years.
More recently, the land to the west had been surveyed and a few strips of brush cleared. Probably for an agricultural tax exemption.
