This congregation of houses can be found off Big Prayer Rd, which is a side street due west of George Gordon Rd. According to my research, this area was once known as Big Prayer, TX. There was also a Little Prayer, TX. It was populated mainly by the African American community, which assumed ownership of the land after the Civil War.
