The House Plantation, 15743 House Rd. It began as a cattle ranch in the late 1800s. It switched to growing rice in 1957 and then again in 1976 to become a timber plantation. The mansion above, built in 1890, was restored in 1998 and this is now a premier Wedding venue in Hockley.
