Hi Alexis, yes I remember it well! My parents were very good friends with Oscar Rapkins, the local Allis Chalmers Dealer. Our tractors were all Allis Chalmers, but the rest of the equipment was whatever we could find at the local auction. A lot of the equipment was so old it had steel wheels! Just curious, why do you ask?

hi Alexis, the big barn was used as a milking parlor and milkhouse on the first floor with a couple of box stalls for calving or isolation. The second floor to the ceiling was hay storage. On the back of the barn we build a loafing shed where we could drop down the hay from above. If you zoom in on this picture, you will see my dad and my uncle painting the new equipment barn.

Yes, this is where I grew up, from 1960 to 1972. I went back in 2010, and had a great time reminiscing with my sibs. Bought the old Allis Chalmers tractor and the windmill that we used back in the day!
