Old Frost Diner, when we were teenagers, we'd go there for great food, they had really good beans n franks with cornbread! Located on business 29 in Warrenton, across from where the old Howard Johnsons was.

Old Gill Implement ! I used to go there with my dad when I was kid to get tractor parts. Just coming into the town of Warrenton, before there were bypasses, when you had to go thru the town of Warrenton to continue north on Rt 29. The good days!

The old Johnsons Motel. Located on Rt 29 heading toward Warrenton from Opal. Never stayed there, but as a kid, I always remembered the big flashing arrow out front!

Opal Truck Stop, located near the intersection of Rt 17 and Rt 29 (across from Clark Brothers Guns). When we were teens in the 70's and 80's , we would go there after the HS football games and eat at the restaurant. Great food there, believe it or not! We used to buy our CB radios for our cars there too.

Ah, this is the old Petes Park N Eat in Opal. At the intersection of Rt 29 and Rt 17. Ate there many times while growing up in the 70's and 80's. Same family owned Petes in Morrisville. I went to school with the kids. They had the best pizza and 'spaceburgers' there. Foot long hot dogs and shakes too! We'll never see good places like that anymore...

Clark Brothers in Opal. Along Rt 29 just near the intersection with Rt 17. Used to be a truck stop directly across from it. I had a cousin who used to work there.

Peoples Bank, in what was the only shopping center in Warrenton in the 70's when I was a kid. Same shopping center as the A&P grocery store and Ben Franklin, at Rt 29 and Bear Wallow Road. My grandmother had her accounts here. I loved going in there with my grandmother and they'd give me Bazooka Joe bubble gum and suckers!

Old Mayhugh's Store (one of several Mayhugh's Stores back in the day). Located along Rt 29 in New Baltimore halfway between Warrenton and Gainesville. Went to school with one of the Mayhugh boys, he was a good guy. I remember being a kid, and dad buying me Hostess pies there for 19 cents and a Chocolate Brownie soda for 15 cents (and get 5 cents back on the bottle when I returned it!)

The Pepsi-Cola plant along Rt 29, in New Baltimore. Halfway between Warrenton and Gainesville. Had a HS buddy graduated Fauquier HS, and he went straight to work there, ended up retiring. He said it was a nice place to work.
