This photo is taken on MD Rte 550 just West of Woodsboro, MD. The Large building at the bottom center is the old Glade Valley Mill, it has been closed for many yeas and now houses JSB Woodworking. The small building to the right of the mill and across the tracks is the old Woodsboro Pennsylvania Rail Road Station and freight building. Just above the rail road station the long white building next to the tracks is N. Z. Cramer & Son hardware and building supply, established in 1890 they are still in business. The path of MD Rte 550 now bypasses these buildings and runs from left to right across the field in the center of the photo.

This is the Simmers Farm at the intersection of Apples Church Road and Roddy Road. Apples Church can be seen at the left.

This is the Thurmont Elementary School located at 805 East Main street in Thurmont. Thurmont Elementary originally housed first through sixth grades, but now houses third, fourth and fifth grades. A new primary school now serves Kindergarten, first and second grades. The original portion of the school is in the front with a later addition at the rear. The school remains with just a few cosmetic exterior changes and major interior changes including the utilization of the space seen here between the two wings. The roadway at the left is Hammaker Street and it is now fully developed with homes.

This is the Claire Frock clothing factory on Poplar Avenue in Thurmont. Claire Frock manufactured womens clothing for many years in Thurmont, this being their final location. The factory closed in the 1990's. Structural systems operated at this location manufacturing pre-built trusses and joists for several years. The building remains in use by several smaller businesses.

This was Corney's Corner located along Rte 15 at the Old Frederick Road intersection. Rte 15 is now located just to the right of Corney's old place. The building survives with a few additions as Chubby's BBQ.

Mountain Manor Motel and Restaurant located at the intersection of Old Frederick Road and Rte 15 at Emmitsburg Maryland. The roadway running in front of the motel is Keysville Road. The building still exists and is now a substance abuse recovery facility.
