This is the old Freeman Family Homeplace on Poplar Springs Church Road. I believe my great-grandfather had this house built around 1910(?) and my grandfather and my dad were born here. There home originally sat on 500 acres. My grandfather inherited the house and the contents along with 100 acres. His two brothers received 200 acres a piece. The two brothers later sold their portions of land to the timber companies. The house was eventually sold by my grandfather in the 1950's so he could afford to send his two sons to college. This home was still standing in 2023.
