I remember when the pond was there, just a low field. I think we had a very wet spring, that led to a spring opening up? Been underwater since.

The Placidus Wick or PH. A very nice family and neighbor to have. I remember passing on a Manhattan he offered one evening while everyone who had put up hay that day sat around visiting that evening.

We confirmed that a John Peter Thill purchased the property in 1862 but sold it in 1880 or so and died soon after in St. Paul. It was interesting to us because of our shared last names. My great grandfather born in 1873 died in 1942 hadn't yet changed his last name to Thill from Bryer. He ran away from home to escape the priesthood and adopted the last name of the family he moved in with.
