The Duane Winterfeld Farm located at 2460 390th Street Sioux Center, IA 51250 (Section 32 Plato Township). This farm was homesteaded by August Winterfeld in 1888 and still remains in the Winterfeld Family. Duane, a 3rd Generation Farmer and youngest son of Theodore was born in 1940 and raised on the "Home Place" along with (4) older Brothers (Julius, Edwin, Merlyn,& Carroll) and (1) older Sister (Marlene Wegner). Duane bought the farm from the Winterfeld Family and raised his son Randy on the farm. The farm was hit by a Tornado in 1904, 1928, 1944, and a Derecho in 2025 ... the building site was completely rebuilt and remains an active family farming operation currently owned by Dan Winterfeld. The building site includes a gymnasium with a full size basketball court, weight room, shop area, wash bay, and also a large cattle feedlot including many state-of-the-art facilities such as a large indoor working/loadout facility, large under ground cistern, several open front cattle confinements including a large earthen lagoon and center pivot irrigation system and even a truck wash out. Many of the original buildings including the House, Barns, Grain Bins, Silos, and Machine Sheds are still being used today.
