This was the home of John and Nell Dean Hesterly. They had three sons. John and Nell Dean divorced but Nell Dean and the sons continued living here and later their grandmother, Mrs. Williamson came to live in her later years.

Wendell and Pat Skinner owned this home for years. Their daughter built a house next door. After Wendell passed, Wendy moved and Pat moved into the house Wendy had built. Later, Pat and Wedell's son, Wes, lived in the originally home.

This was my grandparents home, U. D. & Nannie White. They moved from Randolph county before there was a hwy 157. They had a package deal from the government land, house & barn. When they were putting hwy 157 through originally, he asked that his house be set back from proposed route and a general store building built. He turned this also into a gas station. He also had the state put a huge culvert under the highway so that his cattle could go from pasture to pasture on each side of the highway. He farmed before & after. They raised 8 children. After Grandpa White died, my Uncle Ray came home & was to run the store. He later added a tire shop. ( I believe he did mechanic work also). After a few years he closed the store but continued the shop. He also began a car junk yard around the home. That is this picture above. When hwy 157 proposed being four-lanes, he had the state move the house across the highway which had originally split the land. Since Ray passed away, the cars & parts, all kinds of thing were auctioned off. The home place sold with acreage. My mom still has land that was part of the original purchase.
