I attended the Old Salvisa Baptist Church on Main Street before this church was built when I was about 16 years old. This site is where the Salvisa High School, then Salvisa Elementary School once stood. I watched this building go up, played the piano for the youth choir, participated in youth group and was married in this church in 1980. Great memories

This piece of property was once owned by my dad. He raised a garden and tobacco on this spot. He sold it and the person buying it put a trailer on it with the idea that he would build a house, but that never came to fruition.

I think this is the house I lived in when I was first born. When we lived there it was a little white house with two bedrooms, a living room, kitchen, bathroom and utility room. There was a carport attached to the right side. When I was 3 we moved up to the "big" house where my grandparents had lived. We rented this house out for years. Then finally sold it. The new owners enlarged the house and bricked the outside of it.

This is the farm I grew up on. 304 Garriott Lane. Today all is gone except the garage/wash house. The tobacco barn burned first, then the milk barn....these arson was suspected. We had to sell the farm after Mom and Dad died. The second owner did a lot of work on the inside of the house. I now live in VA, but had returned to visit. The night before I had planned on going to see all the things they had improved, I got a call that the house was on fire. Broke my heart. I have an old fire`place cover that was from the fireplace in my bedroom. The owner saved it and gave it to me. Loved this farm. You can even see Daddy's fishing boat sitting in the yard beside the driveway.
