Piney Grove Grocery was the little brick building on the left side. It operated from the late 1940s/early 1950s until 1961. It was operated by Dorothy Morrow. After Dorothy's passing, the land and house were then sold a few times before being purchased by Jim and Maudie Ratledge in the late 1960s. Maudie used the old grocery as a workshop for her ceramics. In 2018, the property was sold to the family that had purchased the rest of the Morrow farm in the 1960s, making the farm whole once again. A new house stands in place of the old one now, but maintains the same character and basic floor plan as the original. Though the old Grocery building is currently used for storage, the current owners have plans to renovate it into a workshop again.

The farm of Wayne and Virginia Dyke. The house (right side of pic) was bricked in the late 1960s when the Dykes renovated the house and added more rooms to the back. Unsure of exactly when the original house was built. Many of the trees and structures in this photo were either completely destroyed or heavily damaged by a tornado on April 27, 2011.

The farm of Wayne and Virginia Dyke. The camper on the lower right side was used as the office for Piney Grove Motors, a used car lot that the Dykes and their neighbor operated for a few years. The barn and garage in the center of the photograph were destroyed by a tornado on April 27, 2011.

Originally belonging to Fred Morrow, this farm was sold in the mid 1960s to Wayne and Virginia Dyke. The house in the bottom center was not part of that purchase, and passed through several other owners before being purchased by the Dyke's son. The barn in this photo was destroyed by a tornado on April 27, 2011.

The home of Jim and Maudie Ratledge. Originally belonged to the Morrow family and sold in the 1960s. Maudie used the old store building as a workshop for her ceramics. The original house was torn down in 2018 due to severe disrepair, but a new house was built on the existing foundation.
