This is the Montegut Plantation house, a ca.1815 raised colombage house. The plantation has been subdivided and its property whittled down over the years. Behind the house is a two story garage and apartment built in 1951. There is also a shed, barn, and another midcentury house on the same parcel.

This is the ca.1793 Woodland Plantation, a raised bousillage house. It was expanded in phases throughout the 19th and early 20th centuries to its current size. This was the site of the 1811 German Coast uprising, one of the biggest uprisings of enslaved people in the US. Also the birth place of ragtime great Kid Ory.
