I believe this is the Graffiti House in Brandy Station. Believed to have been built around 1860, it is one of the few houses built in Brandy Station before the Civil War that remains standing. The house is notable for the presence of Civil War-era graffiti on the interior walls. The graffiti found includes names, drawings, unit names, and inscriptions left by soldiers. After the war, the graffiti was covered with wallpaper and forgotten. The graffiti was rediscovered during a renovation in 1993. The house includes a small museum and serves as the headquarters for the Brandy Station Foundation. It also serves as a visitor center for the Brandy Station battlefield. This photo was taken 12 years before the rediscovery of the graffiti.
