The address of this property is 9130 Sunflower Road. It was sold September 2023 for the first time since 1976 and as I understand it all the buildings will be razed.

This is the De Soto Feed and Grain. Also shown is Jim's Garage -he ran a tow truck and auto repair business. At the top right of the photo you can barely see the city fair grounds and city park

The house on this property became a rental and at some point in the early 80's it was condemned and the fire department used it for training. We lived down the road 1/2 mile and came down with chairs to watch the fun. It was burned and sat as just a foundation for many many years. Most of the barns are still on the property.

Earl and Betty Ash lived here for a long long time. They were care takers of the lake that was located on the property. It is now Johnson County park land. Earl was a good man. Betty was a nice lady and a good neighbor.
