This was the old 3 story building of Springdale High School, home of the Bulldogs. The small building behind it was the Dodson Building which was the Home Economics building. It was set up like a small home yet also had a large kitchen area with many stoves and another area set up with many sewing machines in the same large room as the kitchen. The building to the right of the 3 story building was the cafeteria. At one point a "new" high school was built across the street from this and these buildings were turned into Central Junior High, home of the Bullpups. As the school district grew a new Central Jr. High was built several blocks west and they became the Central Warriors and all of the area in the picture was incorporated back into SHS. All of these buildings have since been torn down and replaced with new except for the building on the lower right. The street separating the school has been closed, many new buildings have been built and all is now considered the campus of Springdale High School.

Our graduating class of 1973 that went to Central Jr. High (CJHS Bullpups) began Jr High in 1967. The 3 story building and the flat building next to it housed our classrooms, and the girl’s gym was at the back of the 3 story building before the home ec building. On the east side (not shown in this photo) was the boy’s gym. Our class had entered high school when the flat building burned. Emma Ave. was a thru-street from the rodeo grounds to Gutensohn St., I believe. Great memories! The former Central campus is completely changed now, other than the football field.☹️
