This was my grandparent’s farm. The house is no longer there, and a small subdivision is now on part of the property. When I-85 was first built, it cut through my grandfather’s property. Without a close overpass, he couldn’t get his farm equipment and animals to the other side of his property, so the government built him a tunnel under the interstate. I remember when this photo was taken. When the person sold the photo to my grandparents, my grandmother convinced him to paint the geraniums on her porch red. My cousin has the original photo.
