Penfield Grade School closed. The property is now the home of the I&I Antique Tractor and Gas Engine Club (https://www.historicfarmdays.com/)
To the right of the school (where I went from kindergarden to 6th grade) is a small white building that was the school bus garage. We had 2 buses and Jim Sconce(?) was our bus driver. He was a really nice guy, always remember him wearing blue stripped coveralls, matching cap and would pass out Moon Pies to the kids right before the holidays. He also owned (as I remember) Sconce's Tree farm where we would go get our Christmas tree every year. Lottie and Harry Chenoweth were the head of the kitchen and janitor respectively. Oh the memories!
