This is the site of the former Schneider School in Section 2 of Lake Township. Current address is 22835 Hugo Rd, Centralia, IL 62801. The school operated into the 1940s, but aerial images from the 1950s show it gone. Based purely on speculation, the schoolhouse may have been moved a half mile east to the farmstead at the corner of Huey and Hugo roads. A building resembling a school house has been on that property going back to at least the early 1960s (and was still there as of December 2023).
