Looking northeast at the intersection of Franklin and Twelfth Streets, Carlyle, Illinois. The houses, and Motel Carlyle, today is the site of a CVS store. The truck is turning east onto U. S. Route 50, from Illinois State Route 127. U. S. 50 follows Illinois 127 north on Twelfth. Note the Dairy Queen in the southeast corner of the intersection.
